TAARUSH RESIDENCE

Taarush Residence
Built-up : 14000 sft
Project Status : Ongoing
Location: Nagarbhavi, Bangalore

This contemporary luxury residence in Nagarbhavi demonstrates a refined approach to multi-story residential design, combining natural materials, layered facades, and integrated landscape elements to create a sophisticated urban home.

The design celebrates a stacked yet articulated massing strategy, where upper levels step back progressively to reduce apparent scale and create huge terrace spaces.

Each level features a distinct material expression, ground-floor metal-clad garage enclosure with horizontal slat detailing anchors the base, intermediate floors showcase layered transparency through glazing and screening, while upper levels emphasize outdoor living through open terraces with timber pergola structures.

Natural materials define the luxury aesthetic, exposed concrete with board-formed texture, vertical timber panels with ribbed profiles, and terracotta perforated screening creating layered transparency.

Deep concrete overhangs project as sculptural elements, functioning as solar shades while establishing horizontal emphasis. Timber railings and gate systems employ consistent ribbed detailing, establishing material continuity throughout. Metal-framed glazing with minimal profiles maximizes transparency while maintaining structural integrity.

Generous integrated planter boxes at each level support cascading greenery that softens the architectural volumes. Ground-level landscape features mature ornamental trees, sculpted shrubs, and flowering plants that establish a verdant entry sequence.

Upper-level terraces incorporate planter boxes with climbing vegetation, creating green screens that enhance privacy while connecting residents to nature. The building sits within a mature tree canopy, with existing trees preserved to frame the architecture and provide natural shading.

The facade employs a three-layer strategy, clear glazing for primary views and natural light, vertical timber louvers for modulated light control and visual screening, and perforated jaali screens for privacy, allowing selective transparency between interior domestic spaces and the street context. This graduated approach maintains visual interest from the public realm while protecting interior activities from external observation.

Rooftop and upper-level terraces are designed as a party area; they operate as elevated outdoor living platforms with partial weather protection through timber pergola structures and planted screens. These spaces accommodate social gatherings and daily living while maintaining visual connection to the surrounding neighborhood. Planter boxes with climbing vines define spatial boundaries without compromising openness, creating semi-enclosed outdoor experiences that extend the functional area of the residence.
