MJR DIVINE MEADOWS
MJR Divine Meadows
Built-up : 2400 sft
Project Status : Completed (2024)
Location: Sarjapur, Bangalore
This residential community brings together homes and recreational spaces across a
thoughtfully landscaped campus. The design creates a welcoming environment where
residents can live, gather, and connect with nature.
The buildings combine warm terracotta brick, smooth concrete, natural timber, and glass to create visual richness and comfort. Brick walls provide warmth and tie the structures to the surrounding landscape, while concrete offers a clean, modern contrast. Timber screens and pergolas filter sunlight and add handcrafted detail throughout. Windows and screens are positioned based on sun orientation, ensuring each home gets natural light while maintaining privacy and staying comfortable year-round.
The structures use stacked volumes that step back as they rise, reducing their visual weight and creating interesting rooflines. Upper floors pull back progressively, forming terraced levels that open onto private outdoor spaces. Balconies and covered pavilions extend outward into the landscape, connecting indoor and outdoor living. Circular windows and curved archways add playful touches to the building facades.
The pool area serves as the heart of the community, with generous deck space surrounding multiple swimming zones. There are dedicated lap lanes, recreational areas, and shallow sections for children, all enhanced with sculptural details and decorative tile patterns.
A striking timber roof structure spans portions of the deck, offering shade while creating a visual landmark. This roof doubles as a climate control and artistic feature, making the pool complex instantly recognizable within the development.
Ground surfaces feature geometric tile mosaics and linear wood strips that add visual interest and help define different areas. Seating arrangements include timber benches and stone steps at various levels, accommodating both small groups and larger community gatherings. Patterned walkways and courtyards guide residents through the campus, connecting homes to amenities.
The clubhouse features a sculptural helical staircase made of corten steel gutters flowing upwards in a serpentine fashion connecting the upper floors. The inquisitive aspect of the positioning of this staircase is that it lets horizons over the mirror shell pool creating reflections and an illusion of an infinity loop.
