Location: Rajajinagar, Bengaluru
Located in Rajajinagar, this contemporary pub is an upcoming energetic nightlife
destination. The design embraces eclectic maximalism through layered materials,
bold artistic interventions, and functional zoning that supports bar culture and
social gathering.
We were approached by the clients to convert the terrace of a functioning hotel into a high energy bar & restaurant, in the vicinity of older parts of Bengaluru.
The main hurdle was a flat-drawer counter at a double height lobby over the old furniture without the existing structure without disturbing the inhabitants. To put over the old furniture and seamlessly integrate the new services.
Hence the design resulted in a playful arrangement of split levels to integrate the existing structure. The design involves a play of loft ceilings as well as comprising spaces which provides a field of dynamic transition as they traverse the various areas. The spaces were divided equally between the indoor & outdoor spaces to cater to all customers spanning different age groups.
The design employs a rich material palette, polished concrete, warm timber details, geometric floor tiles, and exposed masonry walls, that balances industrial rawness with refined hospitality finishes. The palette combines raw concrete, warm timber accents, and brass detailing, evoking an upbeat contemporary sensibility.
Brass and copper tones from lighting fixtures and sculptural elements add warmth against neutral walls. Patterned terrazzo and graphic floor treatments define different functional zones while maintaining visual continuity.
Generous open-floor areas accommodate movement, Dancing and Social Activity.
Contemporary art anchors the space . Oversized murals, curated art pieces drame the bar as the visual and functional heart of the venue.
The bar features tiered counter seating with integrated shelving systems backlit in amber tones. Statement pendant lights, spherical glass and industrial metal forms, hang above communal tables and bar counters, creating intimate pockets within the expansive volume.
Flexible furniture arrangements accommodate both intimate groups and larger social gatherings, supporting the venue’s upbeat, high-energy programming.
