Ashok Residence is a private residence located in the Sunny Brooks gated
community on Sarjapur Road, Bangalore.
The residence was envisioned as a homely, earthy fabric which creates a home which is both simple and grounded in nature, Every balcony is designed to frame the landscape with a picturesque view of the lush gardens. A central courtyard has been welcomed into the central area providing a soothing dining experience. The design attempts to encapsulate the clients desire to create a home within the natural environment.
Designed for a family of three,The house is a two-story structure defined by clean geometric forms finished in terracotta-toned plaster. Exposed timber elements are used throughout, adding warmth and texture to the exterior and interior spaces. Large cantilevered wooden ceilings extend outward, creating covered terraces that connect the indoor living areas with the surrounding landscape.
The design incorporates vertical timber slat screens for privacy and ventilation, while floor-to-ceiling glazing in the main living spaces allows for abundant natural light and views of the gardens. The material palette features smooth walls in earthy rose and cream tones, complemented by natural wood finishes.
The residence is planned to maximize openness and connection to the outdoors, with generous terraces and landscaped areas. The layout emphasizes environmental sensitivity and spatial comfort, resulting in a home that is both functional and inviting.
